- Shape Indigenous engagement at UQ
- Fixed-term position for up to 5 years at Academic Level D/E or HEW 10+
- Underlying continuing role within an appropriate School if appointed via the traditional academic pathway
- Fractional appointment may be considered, to allow you to maintain active in teaching and/or research
About the role
As the Director / Associate Dean (Indigenous Engagement), for the Faculty of EAIT, you will work closely with the Executive Dean to shape the Faculty’s strategic direction for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement. You will lead the Faculty’s contribution to UQ’s Reconciliation Action Plan, strengthen partnerships across the University, and ensure Indigenous perspectives, knowledges and priorities are embedded in teaching, research and student support. As a key member of the Faculty Executive, you will provide expert advice, guide policy and represent the Faculty on major committees and initiatives.
In this role, you will foster meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities, industry and government, champion ethical and sustained partnerships, and support Indigenous-led research and learning. You will drive staff capability, support the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students, and help build a culturally capable and connected Faculty environment.
