Serve as Chemical Hygiene Officer and Biosafety
Committees
Perform annual review and updates of various health and safety
policies.
Manage OSHA Programs and compliance training
Assist Physical Plant in obtaining permits and regulatory
reporting.
Coordinate Industrial Hygiene equipment program
Conduct/coordinate safety inspections
Supervise hazardous chemical, universal, and biological waste
collection and disposal.
Respond to hazardous materials emergencies.
Present information on risk and compliance to Senior Staff as
needed.
The ability to obtain and maintain OSHA HAZWOPER certification
to participate as part of an internal hazardous materials response
team. This requires the ability to wear a respirator and other
personal protective equipment as well as move hazardous waste
containers up 55-gallon drums using appropriate tools.
The ability to safely handle hazardous materials/waste
independently across campus.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience in EH&S
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Experience in biological safety management
- 5+ years of experience in a Higher Education EH&S
organization
Position Details:
The job grade for this position is Grade 11.
The expected salary for this position is between $120,000- $150,000
which reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this
role.
