Director of the Faculty of Dental Medicine

It is public, by this announcement, the opening of the application process for the position of Director of the Faculty of Dental Medicine - University of Porto (FMDUP).

The Director is responsible for the management of departments and units of FMDUP.

He is responsible for the guidance and implementation of the institutional policy of the Faculty, representing the institution within the University of Porto and before external entities.

The Director is elected by the Council of Representatives of FMDUP for a term of four years.

Professors or postdoctoral researchers from the University of Porto, or external institutions, domestic or foreign, are eligible candidates for the position of Director.

The candidate should fulfil the following conditions:

• Be a person of recognized merit and professional experience relevant to the duties to be performed;
• Have the strategic vision necessary for pursuing the mission and purposes of the University of Porto and FMDUP, under their respective bylaws;
• Have demonstrated ability to promote the scientific and humanistic values in an atmosphere of collegiality and inclusion.

Applications are submitted by the candidates themselves to the President of the Council of Representatives to the address cons_representantes@fmd.up.pt, until 11:59 pm on the last day and should include the following documents:

• Curriculum vitae of the candidate;
• Strategic options for the four years term period, as well as the executive plan;
• A written statement proving that the candidate is not retired or in any of the incompatibility or ineligibility situations recognized by law.
