Director, Southern Desert Regional Police Academy

Job Summary

The Southern Desert Regional Police Academy (SDRPA) was established in 2003 and is currently located at the Waters Street Facility in Henderson, NV. CSN serves as the fiscal and logistical agent for the SDRPA. The CSN Academic Director (a Professional at-will employee) serves under the administrative direction of the CSN Dean of Business, Hospitality and Public Services.

Leadership and Management:

• Works closely with assigned academy instructors, CRJ Instructional Faculty and staff to provide guidance and support in appropriate instructional methodologies.
• Works with the Academy Commander and CSN Department Chair to develop and implement training schedules, curricula, and instructional materials to ensure a superior training program.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in criminal justice, Criminology, JD, or other directly related fields from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Five years of demonstrated full-time occupational experience in the criminal justice profession (law enforcement, courts, or corrections).
