The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must have specialty certification in Nuclear Medicine, either current American Board of Nuclear Medicine certification or a CAQ in Nuclear Radiology from the American Board of Radiology and have completed a Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear Radiology ACGME-approved training program.

Teaching responsibilities may include supervising and teaching residents and fellows for image interpretation, during patient office visits and while participating in interdisciplinary conferences. Candidates will be expected to lecture at assigned resident didactic conferences and in the Nuclear Radiology fellow lecture series. Attendance and teaching at case conferences, as well as participation in journal club meetings, is required. The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator and may be expected to serve in an administrative educational leadership role within the Nuclear Medicine Division. Teaching of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital.

Clinical responsibilities may include conducting and interpreting diagnostic general nuclear medicine and PET studies and evaluating and treating patients with therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. Experience performing and interpreting nuclear medicine stress tests is also part of the practice and is a helpful skill. The successful applicant will be expected to have developed a national reputation for clinical excellence in Nuclear Medicine.

Administrative responsibilities include recruiting, developing, and retaining a distinct group of faculty dedicated to practicing in a highly subspecialized and dynamic environment. The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills and a national reputation for clinical excellence; a demonstrated history of research collaboration and mentoring students and/or junior faculty will be considered an important strength.

To complement Penn's strong comprehensive nuclear medicine research program, which includes programs in instrumentation, radiopharmaceutical development, radiotherapy and translational clinical imaging, there are two cyclotrons serving the PET center. The successful applicant will be expected to have developed a national reputation for clinical excellence in Nuclear Medicine. A demonstrated history of research collaboration is considered a strength.

Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
