Position Summary
The
Department
of Pediatrics in the Jacobs School of Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB) and Golisano
Children’s Hospital (GCH) of Buffalo is actively recruiting for a
Pediatric Critical Care Division Chief to oversee
pediatric critical care delivered in our combined medical-surgical
20-bed PICU and for our critical care sedation and transport
service.
This candidate will join our team of 10 intensivist and 5 APPS to
care for critically ill children at Golisano Children’s Hospital at
Buffalo. This Division Chief will participate in strategic planning
and execution of expansion of Divisional sub-sections of
Neuro-Critical Care, Cardiac-Critical Care, Simulation and Sedation
Services. Faculty duties will also include education and
supervision of PICU fellows, pediatric residents, advanced practice
providers, and medical students from Jacobs School of Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences. Ideal candidates will have some leadership
experience and excellent clinical, teaching and communication
skills, as well as interest in scholarly and quality improvement
initiatives. Protected time and resources will be available.
Qualified candidates will be appointed at the Clinical
Associate/Professor level commensurate to rank.

Teaching and Mentorship Responsibilities
- Support education and training of our APPs and junior faculty
in cardiac critical care
- Teach PICU fellows, pediatric residents and medical
students
- Participate in educational conferences and curriculum
development
- Provide mentorship to junior faculty and fellows
