Emory University's Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology seeks a full-time fellowship trained Transplant Nephrologist at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher to join a robust team. Candidates will be considered based on their experience and long-term career interests.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Serve as a transplant nephrologist in the Emory Transplant Center with an active inpatient and outpatient practice, with coverage and practice responsibilities across Emory-owned and affiliated hospitals.
- Maintain an academic appointment in the Renal Division, Department of Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine.
- Participate in efforts to provide outstanding clinical care, maintain/improve quality and patient safety, access to and management of clinical trials, and developing/refining innovative strategies in the field of adult abdominal transplant surgery.
- Have particular efforts focused on clinical or basic research, quality improvement, and/or education.
- Participate in committees, patient selection conference, peer review, present cases in the M&M case conferences, manage patient workups and procedures according department guidelines, and adopt any tools and/or technologies deemed part of the practice of abdominal transplant.
- Participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows and other rotators through the transplant surgery service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board certified in nephrology
- Completion of an AST-accredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship
- A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
