Offer Description
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join the Translational Organ Microsystems (TOM) Group at the Department for Functional Materials in Medicine and Dentistry (FMZ) / Center of Polymers for Life (CPL), Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU). The candidate will work on advanced 3D bioprinting and biofabrication of functional tissue constructs.
Your research
- 3D bioprinting of cell-laden tissue constructs
- Development and optimisation of bioinks and printing parameters
- Integration of bioprinted tissues with microphysiological systems, perfusion platforms, and advanced human in vitro models
- Cell culture and functional characterisation of bioprinted constructs
Your profile
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, biomaterials, materials science, tissue engineering, biotechnology, or a related field
- Hands-on experience in 3D bioprinting
- Experience in mammalian cell culture
- Experience in biofabrication, biomaterials/hydrogels, CAD, additive manufacturing, or microphysiological systems is advantageous
- Good written and spoken English
- Strong motivation for experimental and interdisciplinary research
