This position will also be responsible for complying with the administrative policies of the UNC Horizons Program and the childcare center. This position will provide supervision of and interaction with the children in care to maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. The Early Childhood Development Practitioner will contribute to the maintenance of the childcare center’s physical environment by discarding any broken or dangerous toys and informing supervisor of any health/safety hazards of the center’s physical environment or of items that need to be replaced. This position will establish and maintain effective communication with parents and offer support, advice and encouragement to the parents regarding their child’s goals, accomplishments and overall well-being. This position will communicate questions and concerns regarding Horizons and/or Sunrise Corner with other team members with appropriate supervisors. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related childcare experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
