As Electrical Services Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, compliance, and operational performance of the University's fire and security systems across campus. Working within the Maintenance Department, you will lead the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, testing programmes, remedial works, and installations carried out by both in-house teams and specialist contractors. You will ensure all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory requirements, University policies, and industry standards. A key part of the role will involve providing technical leadership, maintaining accurate compliance records, and supporting the continuous improvement of services. - Be a fully qualified electrician with substantial experience working on fire and security systems.
- Have previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a maintenance or facilities environment.
- Possess a strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and industry best practice.
- Be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to make informed technical decisions.
- Be an effective communicator who can build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Take a proactive and professional approach to delivering safe, reliable, and compliant services.
