Job Summary:
Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled
classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's
approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying
educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.
Regular
Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive
full year regular contracts.
This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful
candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.
The required teaching
schedule is August to May with the required pay schedule from September to August.
This position will potentially start late
fall and salary will be prorated for the fall semester to account for the missed duty days. Going forward, the salary will reflect the full
amount starting September 2027.
Regular faculty shall be subject to a provisional period from the date of first contract at
the College until the completion of employment under three consecutive full-year, regular contracts. Provisional status begins September
2027.

Record keeping and Instructional
Management
Keep scheduled office hours, including providing regular student office hours.
Meets classes as scheduled for
prescribed time.
Submits required reports and documents.
Attends required Divisional meetings.

Promoting Division/College Quality of Instruction
Assist, as requested, with the
development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.
Assist with curriculum review, revision, development and implementation
within the department.
Assist in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi.
Assist in textbook selection
and adoption.
Assist with student advising and student registration.
Maintain a program advisory committee, as
appropriate.
Participate in professional development activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with program reviews as required by
appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA.
Professional Contributions
Serve on college discipline, department, and community committees and
task forces on behalf of the college.
Assist with Divisional activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with student recruitment as
appropriate.
Assist with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as
appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the dean, the Vice President for Instructional Services and/or the College
President.

Competencies/KSAs:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed
Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services OR ability to obtain a completed Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services within 12
months of hire. - Current Nationally Registered Paramedic or ability to obtain Colorado Paramedic Certification within 60 days of
hire. - One year of teaching experience in Emergency Medical Services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field.
- Three or more years of teaching experience at a
community college, hospital, or fire department. - Demonstrated experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program
planning. - Experience in program assessment.
- Demonstrate certification as an American Heart Association Instructor in Basic
Life Support. - Demonstrate certification as an American Heart Association Instructor in Advanced Life Support.
- Demonstrate
certification as an American Heart Association Instructor in Pediatric Life Support. - Demonstrated completion of the Colorado State
Instructor Series.
