Hunan University of Technology (HUT) – English Language Lecturer Recruitment

To support our foreign language education and enhance our talent development programs, Hunan University of Technology is seeking qualified international language lecturers. We welcome applications and referrals.

1. Qualifications:

We are looking for English teachers with a positive and friendly attitude towards China.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher, or a Lecturer (or equivalent) title, is required for language teaching positions (English).
• Preference will be given to candidates with degrees in Linguistics, Literature, Pedagogy, or related fields.
• Applicants must be native or first-language speakers of the target language and possess at least two years of relevant language teaching experience. This experience requirement may be waived for candidates holding a teaching qualification certificate from their home country or an internationally recognized language teaching certification.
• Candidates must be under 60 years of age, in excellent physical and mental health, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to higher education.
• Applicants should possess strong ethical and professional character, exhibit robust teamwork abilities, and fully comply with the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China.
• Applicants must have a clean criminal record and no pending legal disputes in their country of residence.

2. Employment Details:

• Location: Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, China.
• Responsibilities: Delivering listening, speaking, reading, and writing courses in foreign languages, as well as potentially teaching other undergraduate courses and engaging in teaching-related research.
• Teaching Load: Maximum of 16 class hours per week (45 minutes per class). Each semester consists of 16 teaching weeks.

3. Compensation and Benefits:

• Language Lecturer Salary (after tax):
  • Bachelor’s Degree: ¥8,000 per month
  • Master’s Degree: ¥9,000 per month
• Annual round-trip airfare allowance: ¥10,000 (after tax), as per contract terms.
• Annual vacation travel stipend: ¥2,200 (after tax), for summer and winter breaks.
• Furnished one-bedroom apartment provided, including essential appliances, furniture, kitchenware, computer, and internet access.
• Performance-based teaching bonus (after tax), determined by student evaluations:
  • Grade A: ¥2,000
  • Grade B: ¥1,500
  • Grade C: ¥1,000
  • Grade D: No Bonus
• Comprehensive insurance coverage for the duration of the contract.
• Reimbursement of Chinese residence permit fees.
