1. Job Position

  • Position A Instructor of EAP Reading & Writing, and Academic English Composition (teaching starts in Fall 2026)
  • Position B Instructor of EAP Listening & Speaking, and Public Speaking (teaching starts in Fall 2026)

4. Job Description

Successful candidates will work as members of the Language and Culture Studies Center (LCSC) of HAIC, and are expected to:

  • teach a yearly average of 14-16 academic hours (45 minutes) per week;
  • teach in one of our joint programs following the designated course syllabi;
  • offer an additional extracurricular activity to our students on a weekly basis;
  • deliver a seminar or workshop to students or faculty members once every semester/year;
  • offer 3 office hours each week to our students.

Successful candidates must follow Hainan University’s teaching guidelines and comply with the university’s work policies. The position is renewable depending on teaching performance and overall evaluations.

5. Qualifications Required

  • A Master’s degree or above from an internationally recognized university (Ph.D. preferred for position A) in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Communication, or other directly relevant fields
  • A TESOL certificate with observed teaching of no fewer than 8 hours (CELTA preferred)
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office, especially in making PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems, especially Canvas
  • An up-to-date understanding of AI technology
  • Higher education teaching experience in China strongly preferred
  • EAP teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness from supervisors, peers, or students
