Enrollment Guide
Position Summary
The Enrollment Guide is a grant-funded position supported by the Johnson Foundation Allied Health Scholarship for a period of two years. This role will assist prospective and current Allied Health students by guiding them through the pre-enrollment process, program applications, and retention efforts once admitted. The Enrollment Guide provides personalized support to ensure students successfully navigate admission requirements and persist through program completion.
Duties & Responsibilities
Pre-Enrollment & Admissions Support:
- Assists prospective Allied Health students with understanding pre-enrollment requirements, including general admissions requirements, prerequisite courses, testing, and documentation.
- Guides students through the application process for Allied Health programs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provides information on financial aid, scholarships, and other resources available to Allied Health students.
- Collaborates with faculty, administrative assistants, advisors, and admissions staff to facilitate a smooth application and enrollment process.
Retention & Student Success:
- Supports newly admitted students in transitioning into their Allied Health programs.
- Conducts check-ins and one-on-one advising sessions to monitor academic progress and address challenges.
- Connects students with campus resources, such as tutoring, counseling, and student support services.
- Works with faculty and program coordinators to identify and support at-risk students.
Program Coordination & Communication:
- Maintains clear communication with students regarding deadlines, program updates, and academic expectations.
- Tracks student progress and retention metrics, providing reports to leadership as needed.
- Assists in organizing orientations, workshops, and information sessions for prospective and current Allied Health students.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Ability to work nights & weekends.
- Ability to travel is required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must enjoy talking to and helping people from a wide range of backgrounds and ages.
- Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills.
- Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented.
- A clear understanding of the mission of community colleges
- Prefer applicants with experience working with students and working with a diverse population.
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25+- pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
