Environmental Services Aide I - Westchester (Part-time Evening)
Role Overview
- Perform daily and thorough cleaning using the Seven Step Cleaning Guidelines in the Environmental Services Aide (ESA) Manual
- Safely remove general, infectious waste and soiled linen following hospital procedures and safety guidelines
- Handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to safety and infection control standards
- Use equipment such as the cardboard baler and trash compactor properly and safely
- Support unit operations by completing small moves or room setups as needed
- Participate in department meetings and required training sessions
- Complete additional projects or assignments as directed by leadership
- Share ideas for improving efficiency, safety, and workflow as part of MSK's culture of continuous improvement
Key Qualifications
- No prior Environmental Services experience required -- if you meet the basic qualifications and bring the right mindset, we'll provide the training you need to succeed
- Ability to operate or learn to use floor-cleaning equipment and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and pushing for extended periods
- Capable of lifting at least 30 lbs
- Basic computer knowledge to support communication and training
