Epidemiology Associate or Full Professor Positions
Job Description
The Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics (DBEI) at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in Epidemiology or related disciplines. Areas of focus may include disease, exposure, life stage, methods, health behavior, healthcare delivery, and health equity. Candidates interested in devoting most of their effort to pediatric epidemiologic research may be eligible for an appointment integrated with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Successful candidates on the tenure track are expected to have a strong track record of obtaining peer-reviewed federal funding as principal investigator. Successful candidates in the clinician educator track should have a strong track record of collaborative research. Applicants for associate professor in both tracks are expected to be recognized as leaders in their field nationally. Applicants for full professor in the clinician educator track are expected to be recognized as leaders nationally or internationally, while those on the tenure track are expected internationally. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in epidemiology or a related field, or a clinical doctorate plus masters-level training in epidemiology or a related field.
Teaching responsibilities may include participation in PhD and Masters' degree programs. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring.
Clinical responsibilities, if applicable, may include activities in the candidate's clinical specialty.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing an independent, extramurally funded research program and/or serving as a key scientific collaborator in team-based science. Research opportunities are available in areas including disease-focused, exposure-focused, life stage-focused, methods-focused epidemiology, health behavior, healthcare delivery (including implementation research), and health equity.
The Division of Epidemiology includes over 65 full-time faculty with diverse expertise. It is part of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, an integral part of Penn Medicine, with strong links to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
