Job Description
The Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of
Missouri-St. Louis creates opportunities for the people of our

The Event Support Lead provides guidance and supervision while
performing operational support for performances, events, and venue
activities by assisting with the maintenance, cleaning, and
organization of venues used.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
[Direct Event Support] – 30%
- Under general direction, in support of events, clean and
maintain the performance and presentation spaces before, during,
and after events:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum
Wipe down surfaces
Empty trash and replace liners
Restock restrooms
Under certain circumstances, shovel snow from entryways or
treat areas
[Supervision] – 30%
- Supervise and participate in running department specific event
support crews toward successful completion of tasks; lead
departments with venue preparations for events.
- Supervisors will train subordinate employees in specific
methods and machinery as needed to support the client’s needs and
the professional development of the employee.
[Reception Setup] – 10%
- Under supervision, safely set up portable seating, and tables
to match client requests.
[Delivery and Dispersal Support] – 25%
- Under supervision, receive, unload and load deliveries of items
and equipment from semi/box trucks as necessary.
- Organize areas that were utilized in preparation for subsequent
events.
[Training] – 5%
- Complete University-mandated training as required.
- Complete Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhill
qualification(s)) as required.
As with all positions, may perform other job-related
responsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wide
needs.

Variable depending on event needs
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and some work experience from
which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is
necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to transport objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at
night.
- Willingness to work hard and take direction.
- Experience and comfort with working at heights in elevated
positions.
- Experience in event or theatrical setup and production (any
area of emphasis).
- An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, and
usages.
- Good communication skills and customer service experience is
recommended.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$17.50-$21.50
