Recruitment Range: $45,400 - $50,438 The salary range advertised is the designated recruitment range for this classification. Final salary offers will be determined by the candidate’s education, relevant experience, internal equity alignment, and departmental budgetary parameters.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Division for University Advancement is responsible for the following primary goals:
- Coordinate a campus-wide, comprehensive effort to raise philanthropic funds that support the strategic plan and mission of the university.
- Manage an inclusive alumni engagement program designed to serve and engage nearly 100,000 alumni as ambassadors, advocates, and donors.
- Strengthen and expand UNCW's donor pipeline through effective discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Ensure that external boards (UNCW Foundation Board, Board of Visitors, Student Aid Association Board, Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the Friends of UNCW) are effective in their mission of supporting UNCW.
The division's fundraising efforts are enhanced by effective partnerships with the campus community as well as external constituents, including alumni, parents, corporations, foundations, volunteers, and friends. Development areas include annual giving, leadership annual giving, major gifts, principal gifts, corporate and foundation engagement, planned giving, and alumni engagement. Prospect development, events and board management, stewardship, communications, and advancement services are support services for the fundraising activities of the division.
Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
The Events Coordinator assists with leading cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events for University Advancement and the Chancellor's Office, overseeing the assignment of duties to staff and volunteers who assist with events.
This position is responsible for the efficient operation of all University Advancement, and Chancellor related advancement events. The Events Coordinator assists with the organization, development and logistics planning associated with special events. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Making reservations, developing invitations, managing RSVPs and dissemination to appropriate offices
- Processing names for name badges
- Organizing registration for events
- Requesting menus and entertainment
- Working with inside and outside vendors
- Telecommunications, moving services, room set-up, flowers, risers, tents, assigned seating, photographers, themes and working agendas
- Virtual programming details according to timelines for events, donors, students, and volunteers
This position manages and attends all assigned events and travels as needed for out-of-town events. This position works to guide the development staff, student ambassadors, departmental representatives, and the Chancellor in stewarding donors in an equitable and donor-centered manner.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Two years experience in event planning; knowledge of university advancement fundraising protocols; university experience preferred; experience with virtual event programming; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience managing confidential information appropriately.
FTE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday, occasional weekend and nights
Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, flexibility required
