Under the supervision of the Director of Cal-SOAP, the Event Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all events for the Inland Empire Cal-SOAP Program in collaboration with schools, districts, colleges, universities, community based and non-profit organizations and other partners and stakeholders, ensuring that all events are implemented in accordance with Cal-SOAP mission, law, policies and requirements.

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ('UEC') supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, Staff, Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $5,860-$6,158.55 per month.

Location: CSUSB Campus, San Bernardino area event locations.

Work Schedule
Exempt. 40+ hours per week. Typically 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Nights and weekends may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Cal-SOAP Director, the Events Manager will work independently to:

  • Be responsible for the direct oversight of events on and off campus;
  • Work with Operation Manager to ensure that Student Success Coaches are assigned to support events;
  • Establish and coordinating event request process;
  • Stay abreast of changing reservation policies and procedures on campus;
  • Work with Operation Manager & SSCs to ensure each host site has a minimum of two Cash for College Workshops;
  • Ensure all event costs and attendance are accurately maintained, reported and organized;
  • Consistently monitor school calendars to ensure we are maximizing our efforts and not duplicating events or competing with site and district events;
  • Develop pre and post event surveys for evaluation and data driven programming;
  • Share data with Director to be shared with stakeholders and partners;
  • Manage the delivery of events at site, district, and on campus;
  • Support school, district, and partner events when possible;
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, retreats, and professional development conferences;
  • Assist with the development of summer programming;
  • Assist with the development, hiring of staff and training for summer programs;
  • Travel throughout San Bernardino County is required;
  • Perform other program related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:
+ BA Degree/ four (4) years of progressively responsible experience working in outreach and/or advising programs with no less than two (2) years' experience cultivating partnerships with K-12 and college partners
Other:
+ Applicants should have successful experience developing, managing, and implementing the delivery of support services to middle and high schools.
+ Applicants must have a high level of knowledge of educational grant-funded programs and federal and state grant regulations and their requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Education, Counseling, or Higher Education is preferred
