Executive Director for Auxiliary Services
The Executive Director for Auxiliary Services provides strategic visionary leadership for a complex, multi-million dollar portfolio of customer-facing and revenue generating auxiliary enterprises that supports the University's mission. Leads the Auxiliary Services team of more than 400 employees with full accountability for service quality, customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and financial sustainability.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Finance and Associate Treasurer, the Executive Director is specifically responsible for both the strategic execution and ongoing operations of Auxiliary Services programs including a self-operated Dining Services program, Event Management, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, and Transportation, Parking and Contracted Services which includes Vending, Bookstore and Print Management, assuring that those negotiated contracts are in alignment with the University's ongoing strategic and financial priorities.
In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for recommending innovative ideas as well as implementing and evaluating strategies and policies that will ensure the University attains its objectives related to Auxiliary Services and its established financial goals; and works closely with the Associate Vice President to identify short and long term capital improvements for the Auxiliary Services division.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $203,900 to $254,850; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a higher education auxiliary services setting.
- Possesses a track record of leading change in a complex organization with evidence of proactive decision-making skills, team consensus building, customer service and accountability.
- Competency at simplifying complex situations and negotiating successfully in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to think strategically about financial implications and alternatives as they relate to business planning.
