The postdoc position
How does the interplay between immunity, metabolism, and hormones influence women's health? Join us as an experimental immunology postdoctoral fellow in a 2-year fully funded position, with possibility of extension. You will use experimental immunology methods to investigate how the immune system is shaped by reproductive and metabolic factors in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome, PCOS). You will collaborate in other relevant lab projects, such as elucidating immune-reproductive crosstalk during in vitro fertilization. Your project will comprise transcriptomic (bulk and scRNAseq), proteomic (Olink), and immunophenotypic profiling (cytometry) of the immune system. As a postdoc in our lab, you will also be involved in project management and reporting, seminar/conferences attendance, teamwork, and external collaborations.
Profile of the candidate
The candidate should be an enthusiastic and motivated scientist with a background in experimental immunology. Candidates with a passion for immunology, women's health and omics experiments and that have recently completed their PhD (or are currently finishing up) are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate should have experience in immunology methods (flow cytometry, cell sorting, handling and culturing of primary immune cells, etc) and molecular biology (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, library prep/sequencing, etc). Experience in next generation sequencing data analysis and programming are not required but are considered a merit. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Individuals from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The preferred timeframe for position start is November 2026 – March 2027.

The postdoc position is placed at the Systems Immunology Lab at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Lund University, in Lund, Sweden. The research team is led by Assistant Prof. Camila Consiglio, and includes MSc-level trainees, two PhD students, and three postdocs.
