Extension Faculty, Gem County: Small Farms/Community Development/4-H Youth Development
Position Summary
The University of Idaho Extension is seeking an Extension Educator in Gem County at the tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenure-track/tenured Associate Professor rank. This position includes an 80% Extension (outreach) appointment, distributed across program areas as follows: small farms (45%), supporting producers with sustainable practices, production, and farm management; community development (30%), providing education, resources, and facilitation; and 4-H Youth Development (25%), ensuring high-quality youth programming.
The remaining appointment includes scholarly activity (5%) and University service (15%), along with county chair duties.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Agriculture, Community Development, Horticulture, or closely related to the domain of the position
- Experience in program development, delivery, and/or evaluation
- Experience in small farms, agriculture, or horticulture
- Experience working with community partners, producers, and organizations to build collaborative programs or initiatives
- Experience creating, adapting, and delivering education materials
