Why Your Role Matters
As External Engagement Coordinator, you'll help shape how UNSW Art & Design is experienced by its broader community. Working closely with artists, academics, alumni and industry partners, you'll support initiatives that strengthen the School's profile, celebrate its achievements and build meaningful connections with external audiences. Through engaging content, digital communications and relationship-building activities, you'll play a key role in showcasing one of Australia's leading creative education communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of external engagement initiatives that enhance the profile and reputation of UNSW Art & Design.
- Coordinate digital communications, campaigns and engagement activities across multiple channels.
- Manage and maintain the UNSW Art & Design website, ensuring content is current, engaging and audience-focused.
- Oversee the School's Instagram presence, including content coordination, publishing and community engagement.
- Develop compelling content that highlights the work, people and impact of the School.
- Support alumni engagement initiatives and help strengthen connections with graduates and the broader creative community.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academics, artists, alumni and industry partners.
- Monitor engagement outcomes and contribute insights to support future initiatives and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
You are a creative communicator with a genuine passion for arts, design and culture. You enjoy building relationships, creating engaging content and bringing stories to life across digital platforms. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders, you can balance multiple projects while maintaining a strong focus on audience engagement and reputation building.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Experience in communications, marketing, external engagement or relationship management.
- Strong content creation skills, including writing for digital, social media and web audiences.
- Experience managing websites, social media channels and digital communications.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating projects, campaigns or engagement initiatives from concept through to delivery.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach to work.
- An interest in, or connection to, the arts, design, creative industries, galleries, cultural organisations or related sectors.
Desirable
- Experience working within an arts, cultural, creative or higher education environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, alumni engagement activities or community-building initiatives.
