Job Description
The Facilities OperationsSpecialist 2 is responsible for the development, oversight, scheduling, and delivery of the reactionary and planned maintenance programs for The Ohio Union and Student Life Facilities. This position utilizes general industry knowledge and professional experience in the application of concepts, principles and technical capabilities to serve as a repair, inspection, and project management Specialist for building and mechanical systems and processes. This position is also a hands-on position requiring mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC aptitude coupled with excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. This position will assist in identifying and scheduling maintenance for Student Life facilities, including performing inspections of buildings and conducting quality assurance reviews; assists with the training of facility technicians to improve competencies in all facets of their work; interacts with customers when needed; participates in facility status meetings; assumes management duties for the department when the manager is not present.The Facilities Operations Specialist typically works from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PMMonday through Friday, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days and/or location as operations dictate, and is subject to 24-hour call in.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience. 2 years of relevant building and mechanical systems maintenance experience; valid drivers license; ability to lift 70 lbs.; available for 24-hour calls; experience using CMMS systems to include creation of planned/scheduled maintenance events; experience and understanding of required testing and planned scheduling and maintenance of building and mechanical systems and equipment and related components to ensure consistent delivery of service level; computer literacy and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders via email; experience troubleshooting, repairing and testing of building and mechanical systems equipment.
Desired: 2-4years relevant Building maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC systems maintenance experience; working experience and knowledge training technicians on technical and customer service-related skills. Experience in repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment and systems.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $28.22 - $37.12 based on education and experience. This position is eligible for weekend and evening shift premiums as applicable.
