We seek outstanding scientists developing and applying cutting-edge theoretical and computational approaches to understand, predict, and design materials. Areas of particular interest include electronic-structure theory from method development to state-of-the-art, large-scale calculations, multiscale simulations, and data-driven and machine-learning approaches for materials discovery and modeling.
A doctorate is required at the starting date. A successful candidate is expected to develop an independent and competitive research program in a multidisciplinary environment. The new Faculty member will supervise their own PhD students and engage with researchers in related fields across the EPFL campus. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and contribute to STI education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
