The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Addiction Medicine for adults and potentially adolescents. Additional expertise in Hospital Medicine, LGBTQ+ health and/or Community Medicine is welcomed based on availability of positions, but not required for all roles. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate should be Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, with Fellowship training or prior clinical experience in Addiction Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the education of Family Medicine residents, medical students, as well as with fellows in the Addiction Medicine fellowship here in our department.

Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient care in a busy academic practice, caring for a racially and gender diverse patient population and participation in our outpatient integrated addiction and primary care clinics. Based on the individual candidate, optional roles may include rounding on the adult medicine inpatient service, community and school-based healthcare settings, and/or LGBTQ-focused primary care.

Candidates are not required to participate in research or scholarship but are welcome to collaborate with faculty within the university, and scholarship in the area of Addiction Medicine will strengthen a candidate's application.
