Offer Description
The Molecular Physiology and Exercise Research Group at the School of Physical Education and Sport of Ribeirão Preto (EEFERP) is accepting applications for a 36-month FAPESP-funded postdoctoral fellowship to work on the Thematic Project entitled “Unraveling the Role of Rev-Erbalpha in Insulin Resistance in Skeletal Muscle: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Interventions.”
Applicants must meet the following requirements: a) Academic training in Biological Sciences or a related field, with a PhD in Sciences from a graduate program in Biochemistry or Physiology; b) Experience in studies involving the metabolism and physiology of white and brown adipose tissues; c) Previous experience handling, breeding, and genotyping genetically modified mouse models, including mice with tissue-specific gene deletion using the Cre-loxP system; d) Experience in cell culture, molecular cloning, plasmid manipulation, cell transfection, and gene silencing using RNA interference (RNAi); e) Experience with molecular biology techniques and the processing of biological samples for omics analyses; f) Experience assessing in vivo lipogenesis using radioisotopes, including the safe handling of radioactive materials and knowledge of applicable biosafety and radiation protection regulations; g) A publication record; and h) Leadership skills, motivation, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
The selection process will comprise:

The position is open to Brazilian and international applicants. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship of R$ 12,570.00 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the fellowship’s annual value to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activities.
