First-Year Writing Part-time Lecturers
The First-Year Writing Program at Tufts University invites applications for part-time lecturer positions, starting in Fall 2026. Lecturers will teach one or more courses in one academic year on the Medford and/or SMFA campuses. These composition courses are part of the university’s foundation requirements and are aimed at ensuring students have the writing skills to succeed at the college level. The program offers special versions of these courses for international students for whom English is an additional language.
PhD or MFA are required. Candidate must have degree in hand by the time of hire. Experience in teaching expository writing at a university or college level is required. All offers of employment are contigent upon completion of a background check.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, a CV, a writing sample (no more than 15 pages), a sample syllabus for expository writing along with three letters of recommendation, submitted directly by the recommenders and uploaded to Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/184515.
