Job Description

Essential Functions:
- With assistance, provide oversight, supervision, and evaluation of student and part-time personal training staff, including performance feedback, goal setting, and ongoing professional development.
- Coordinate, schedule, and support small group training offerings, ensuring programs meet participant needs, support departmental goals, and align with campus recreation priorities.
- Assist with administrative duties to ensure the successful operation of the personal training program, including scheduling, payroll support, and communication with participants.
- Track and assess client participation data and revenue performance, supporting efforts to meet or exceed annual fitness program participation and target revenue goals.
- Assist with the promotion of personal and small group training programs, collaborating with professional staff to increase awareness and engagement.
- Assist the Associate Director and Coordinator with the development and implementation of staff development initiatives for fitness employees.
- Develop annual goals in collaboration with the Associate Director and contribute to ongoing assessment and reporting related to fitness programs and services.
- Assist with risk management practices related to personal training staff, spaces, and equipment, and recommend policies and procedures that promote safety, fiscal responsibility, and participation.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment that supports the engagement of all members of the campus community, with particular attention to underrepresented populations.
- Coordinate and/or assist with other special projects as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- High School diploma and at least 3 years of personal training experience.
- Appropriate professional certifications through ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NCSA or similar.
- Experience with and knowledge of small and personal group training.
- Knowledge of cardio, weight, and fitness equipment.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid or ability to obtain certification.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience supervising fitness employees
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering fitness programs preferably on a college campus
Accountabilities:
- Reports to the Senior Associate Director, Programs
Physical Requirements:
- This position will require sitting and standing
- Occasional lifting of 50+ pounds
Environmental Conditions:
- Noise level is moderate to loud
