BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY (BSU) invites qualified applicants to join our team as a Fixed-Term Assistant or Associate Professor of Business Administration and Financial Planning / Finance. This position is primarily teaching-focused with expectations for student engagement and reasonable expectations for scholarly/professional activity.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing leadership and development of Financial Planning Program at BSU including supporting efforts to advance the program toward CFP Board Registered status.
- Development of internship program with corporate donors and other finance professionals for financial planning students.
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Financial Planning and Corporate Finance including Financial Management, Real Estate, Risk Management and Insurance, Behavioral Investing and Portfolio Management.
- Contributing to a program of scholarship, advising students, serving the University and community.
- Designing and delivering courses for on-campus and online delivery.
- Advising and supporting students’ academic progress.
- Contributing to curriculum development, assessment, and departmental governance.
- Assisting with programmatic accreditation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree (including an MBA) in Finance, Financial Planning, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching and student development.
- Ability or willingness to teach in multiple modalities.
- Interest in and commitment to diverse cultures and populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or DBA in Financial Planning, Finance, or closely related field.
- CFP certification.
- Industry experience in Financial Planning.
- Experience teaching Financial Planning and Finance courses.
