Graduate Assistant - Women's Basketball
JOB SUMMARY:
Saginaw Valley State University, a NCAA Division II member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Women's Basketball. The Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Women's Basketball Coach with the daily operation of the Women's Basketball program. Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting efforts, supporting practice and game preparation, coordinating program activities, assisting with team travel and events, and contributing to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to applicable university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Assist in supporting compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.
- Assist with practice planning, game preparation, scouting activities, and other basketball operations.
- Assist with recruiting activities.
- Assist with community outreach and relationship-building efforts.
- Assist with the purchasing, inventory, distribution, and maintenance of uniforms and equipment.
- Assist with the development and implementation of off-season training and conditioning activities.
- Support fundraising initiatives, banquets, camps, clinics, and other special events.
- Assist with coordinating team travel arrangements and logistics.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
