Graduation Event Manager

About the Courtauld

The Courtauld is an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded by collectors and philanthropists in the 1930s, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since, through advanced research and conservation practice, innovative teaching, the renowned collection and inspiring exhibitions of its gallery, and engaging and accessible activities, education and events.

Graduation Event Manager

The Courtauld is seeking an experienced Graduation Event Manager to lead the planning and delivery of our 2026 summer graduation ceremony. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver one of the institution’s most high‑profile events, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and with key external partners.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of the ceremony - from logistics, venue coordination and supplier management to communications, guest experience and VIP engagement. You’ll also oversee the event budget, maintain accurate student and ticketing data, and ensure smooth operational delivery on the day, including the rehearsal and associated graduation events.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone highly organised, calm under pressure, and confident managing multiple deadlines. You’ll bring at least two years experience delivering major events, strong communication and project management skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience in Higher Education or with Tessitura is welcomed but not essential.

Role Details

Fixed term until 31 July 2026 | Part-time (21 hours per week) | Salary: Grade 5, £23,179 per annum (pro rata, based on 0.6 FTE of a full-time salary of £38,633 per annum)

Why join us?

As part of the Courtauld, you’ll enjoy a generous benefits package including:

  • 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays and closure days
  • Staff discounts across our cafés and shop
  • Free or discounted gallery access
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Pension scheme (USS) and travel/cycle loan options

The successful candidate must be available during the week of the graduation ceremony, including 8 July 2026.

Interview date: Tuesday 31st March 2026

To apply, please complete the online application, which will require you to supply a CV and a supporting statement. The supporting statement should set out how you meet the criteria of this position.
