Job Description Summary
Primary purpose of this role is to support the research activities of the Division of Hematology Oncology in the Department of Medicine. This position will be responsible for managing complex grants including clinical research grants and program project grants with multiple sub-contracts. The Grants Manager will work independently to manage the sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award while working with Principal Investigators on proposal development, budget development and related pre-award requirements and submission for a diverse sponsor portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage pre and post award activities for various PIs, including RPPR's. Review funding opportunities, prepare proposal checklists, prepare and review proposal budgets and assist in other proposal development activities.
- Participate in the annual budget process and monthly financial analysis for sponsored programs, gifts, endowments, chair commitments and other university accounts. Manage Subcontracts & process RIS agreements
- Monthly reconciliation of grant expenditures for compliance and take or recommend corrective actions as needed. Ensure accurate effort allocation for PI's & research staff.
- Training & Mentorship of Grants Managers, Serve as a Resource to Grants Managers & Grants Coordinator for day-to-day financial operations.
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures to ensure uniformity in reporting and compliance with University, School and sponsor.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
