Offer Description

Title of the project: “Grave Goods and Society in the Hyblaean plateau between the 4th and 8th Centuries”. The research aims to analyze the grave goods discovered in the necropolises of the Hyblaean Plateau between the 4th and 8th centuries AD, with the aim of contributing to the broader study of the social, cultural, and religious transformations characterizing the population of that area from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. Through the study of funerary contexts, deposited materials and the geographical distribution of necropolises, the investigation seeks to understand the dynamics of social self-representation, status differences, intercultural relations, and changes in ritual practices. Attention is devoted to the processes of continuity and transformation of funerary traditions in relation to the social, political, and economic changes affecting the island.
