facilities of the Greenhouse and its ancillary rooms, communicating as necessary with Facilities Management to ensure regular maintenance and prompt repairs. Finally, the Greenhouse Manager is expected to assist laboratories and student research in a fraction of the Department’s courses that focus on plant biology and utilize the greenhouse and its associated growth facilities.

This role is a 30-hour-a-week, benefit-eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) – in a life science field - from a four-year college or university
• 6 months or more employment experience involving skills related to plant care
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks and shift between work duties seamlessly.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with students in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrates a commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Substantial college-level training in plant biology.
• Post-college experience in a greenhouse setting.
• Experience that demonstrates critical organizational or multi-tasking skills
• Experience using spreadsheet and word processing software (Microsoft Excel, Word)
• Experience working in a laboratory setting
