In the areas of research and education, the Department of Applied Pharmacy focuses on issues related to various aspects of the provision of pharmacy and clinical-pharmaceutical care, economics, legal regulations, and ethics of pharmaceutical professional activities, with an emphasis on ensuring the quality, efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of pharmacotherapy and healthcare interventions, as well as on the historical development and current state of pharmacy and its social standing.
It is one of six institutes of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Masaryk University (MU). The fundamental mission of the MU Faculty of Pharmacy is to provide university education, conduct research in the field of pharmacy and related disciplines, and fulfill the faculty’s social role as an academic institution.
The faculty works closely with domestic and international research institutions as well as pharmaceutical companies and is a proud recipient of the HR Excellence in Research Award, a European certificate of quality for HR processes.
What will your job entail:
- Responsibility for the department’s educational and research activities
- Management of and responsibility for the department’s finances
- Participation in the education of students in the Faculty of Pharmacy’s master’s and doctoral programs
- Collaborating on research, development, and innovation, particularly by initiating and leading research, development, or innovation programs or projects
- Active participation in domestic and international scientific conferences, presenting research results at conferences and other professional meetings both domestically and abroad
- Publication activity
What we require:
- Completed university education in pharmacy or a related field
- Ph.D. degree or CSc. scientific title
- At least 5 years of teaching experience at a university in pharmacy or a related field
- Practical experience with research projects, ideally as a principal investigator or co-investigator, is an advantage
- Active international collaboration within and outside the EU is an advantage
- Management skills
- Personal qualities suitable for leading the institute
- Fluent command of Czech and English
- Good character and moral integrity
