Healthcare Financial Management (HMGT 322)
An overview of the acquisition, allocation, and management of the financial resources of healthcare organizations. Economic and accounting practices are discussed in terms of budget administration, cost analysis, financial strategies, and internal controls. The goal is to examine financial information and regulatory requirements and policies, identify issues and solve problems, and make sound financial decisions in the healthcare field.
Healthcare Economics (HMGT 435)
A comprehensive and analytical study of basic economics and its relationship to the delivery of healthcare. The aim is to apply the principles of economics to healthcare management and to anticipate the impact of economics on the outcomes of healthcare management decisions. Topics include the microeconomic aspects of the organization and delivery of healthcare, financing and other major components of the healthcare system, and economic factors that influence the delivery of healthcare.
Required Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, Health Admin, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- 5 years directly relevant, current and active industry experience in Healthcare.
- 3 years of experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education.
- This position is specifically to teach remotely.
