Hiring Manager and HR Analyst

The Hiring Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the University’s hiring process, including supporting supervisors in the creation of new positions, recruitment, and all other aspects of the hiring process through the hiring of the selected candidate. This aspect of the position will report directly to the University’s Vice President and General Counsel. Additionally, the Human Resources department is seeking a strong Analyst to provide administrative, analytical, and technical skills in a key role responsible for both data, electronic communications, and employment/hiring processes. In collaboration with the Directors for Human Resources, this aspect of the role will also focus on leading HRIS and website enhancements and maintenance, reporting and analytics, compliance, and streamlining processes all with top level customer service. Salary range $64,000 - $76,000 annually, actual starting rate will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors protected by law.

The position requires a diverse range of complex professional and technical responsibilities with complete confidentiality.

Primary responsibilities for Hiring include:

  • Positively support hiring managers throughout the University in the development of all positions for recruitment and hiring processes by coordinating and tracking search processes, job description development and maintenance and FLSA compliance Liaison with internal hiring managers and external recruiting sources and search teams. Coordinate competitive placements for advertisements and recruitment resources. Primary contact for PeopleAdmin, HireRight and Travel vendor relationships. Provide reports and analytics related to hiring, turnover, and retention Coordinate and track search processes. Prepare, track, and maintain appointment letters and related hiring/search records. Manage background check information, budget transactions, interviewing and relocation costs for candidates and new hires, reimbursement forms and related HR records. Oversee the non-exempt hiring performed by Confidential II employee.

Primary responsibilities of the HR Analyst part of the position include:

  • Liaison with IT and Communications for technical enhancements and support.
  • Create and provide reports and analytics on key HR metrics.
  • Process and maintain confidential department records.
  • Collaborate with HR staff for operations, records and compliance.
  • Contribute to staff training and development initiatives.
  • Support strategic initiatives and projects and serve on university committees as a representative of Human Resources.
  • Lead HRIS and website enhancements and maintenance to streamline processes, all with top level customer service.
  • Additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in human resources.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have ability to create a variety of communications and reports.
  • Technical and analytical skills coupled with organization and attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and keep work product completely confidential.
  • Demonstrated technical competency including proficient use of website, Word, Excel and employee databases or other comparable software programs is required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multi-task in a busy team-orientated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience in Applicant Tracking systems and leading a broad range of employment searches, together with direct experience in human resources technology and optimization.
  • Experience in developing HR related programs is desired. Knowledge of SLATE and Ellucian’s Colleague system or comparable human resources information systems/software is preferred
