THE ROLE

The Hourly Paid Lecturer in Health and Social Care will deliver teaching across a range of learning environments, using varied teaching methods at undergraduate level and, where appropriate, postgraduate level. The post holder may develop teaching and assessment materials for specified modules and subject areas, and may lead modules and programmes, particularly in Public Health, Digital Health, Physiology and Psychology. 

Main duties will include:

• Deliver teaching, learning and assessments, as well as provide support to students
• Deliver teaching and learning strategies in a variety of contexts using appropriate and engaging teaching and learning styles
• Be involved in the design and development of high-quality teaching and learning material
• Supervise the work of students in a timely, professional and supportive manner, providing necessary advice on study skills, research methods, assessment and dissertation work.
• Offer appropriate feedback, support, and encouragement to students to ensure a high-quality student experience.

REQUIREMENTS

You should have:

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Public Health, Digital Health, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health Professions and/or any other relevant disciplines)
• Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Higher Education
• Experience in teaching and supporting students from diverse backgrounds
• Experience in the design and development of module content, learning material, and assessments
• Demonstrable organisational and personal management skills
• Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of a commitment to team working and teaching
• IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources
• Evidence of ability to balance competing pressures

This role has flexible hours across the weekday and weekend. Hours are allocated prior to each term (September, January, May) based on the HPL's availability and the Campus's timetabling needs.

£44 per hour plus a holiday entitlement of 18.03%
