Responsibilities:

Perform routine and more complex custodial duties. Cleans and dusts areas such as suites, offices, classrooms, kitchens, living spaces, laboratories, lobbies, museums, locker rooms, stairways, corridors and elevators. Dust mop and wet mop floors. Cleans and polishes furniture and cleans windows. Spray buffs, strips, seals and waxes floors as instructed using appropriate equipment. Cleans and maintains restrooms and bathrooms. Clean glass, chalkboards, display cases, interior partitions, light fixtures, etc. Refills toilet paper, paper towel, and soap dispensers. Cleans and polishes hardware such as door handles, push plates, kick plates, metal handrails, drinking fountains, and restroom trim (external piping, faucets, traps and valves). Vacuum, spot clean and shampoos carpets. Removes and cleans floor mats and entrance rug runners. Wash walls, doors and woodwork. Moves furniture and equipment as required. Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly manner. Maintain adequate supply of cleaning equipment, materials and supplies. Use cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, squeegees, cleaning cloths, sponges, pails brushes, vacuum cleaners and floor machines. Turn in found articles in accordance with University policy. Removes trash and trash containers from buildings to designated disposal areas. Reports all repairs required and safety and fire hazards to building secretary and immediate supervisor. Observe safety standards and practices. Perform related duties as required or assigned within job classification. Lift and carry objects of at least 30-60 pounds unassisted, assist others in moving objects greater than 30-60 pounds. Clean exterior windows on upper level buildings using commercial man lifts or other specified equipment. Assist in employee training when necessary. Must be available to work extra hours and weekends.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years in cleaning services or related type work. Ability to read, write and follow written instructions. A valid MS driver's license required. Minimum of one year in cleaning services or related type work. Ability to read, write and follow written instructions. Must have a valid drivers license.

Salary: Hourly Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university's resources.

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of two years in cleaning services or related type work. Ability to read, write and follow written instructions. A valid MS driver's license required.
