HR Business Partner Sr Health
Reporting to the HR Manager at Michigan Medicine and operating within the HR Business Partner Service Delivery Model, the HR Business Partner plays a vital role in the comprehensive delivery of high-quality HR services throughout the health system. The Senior HR Business Partner performs all the duties of HR Business Partner (HRBP) plus the duties listed below.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to HR Business Partners, encouraging self-sufficiency, leveraging HR contemporary and best practices, and enhancing overall individual and team performance and impact. In partnership with the HR Manager, provide advice and counsel to assigned HR Business Partners as needed.
- Serve as subject matter expert and/or provide consultation on complex and sensitive HR-related matters, offering guidance as needed to HRBPs and managers/leaders across the organization in all HR areas including but not limited to employee relations, labor relations, organizational effectiveness & culture & change management, pay administration and implementation of compensation-related programs & initiatives, workforce planning & talent management, workforce strategy, counseling on individual & team performance, and management development.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized onboarding and training programs for HR Business Partners ensuring consistency in HR service delivery, institutional knowledge transfer and readiness to support strategic priorities, initiatives, and programs.
- Lead and actively participate in enterprise-wide committees, cross-functional initiatives and project teams as necessary to improve processes and workflow, develop policies, guidelines, design, and implement programs.
- Champion innovation and operational excellence within the HR Function, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, improve employee experience, and support a high performing workplace culture.
- Supports assigned departments, providing strategic consultation and support across all HR functional areas including but not limited to Employee Relations, Labor Relations, supporting Pay Administration & designated Compensation Programs & initiatives, management development, organizational effectiveness, culture, OHS, HRIS, etc.)
- Partners and collaborates with HR colleagues and specialty areas including legal counsel as needed to resolve issues and ensure consistent, effective HR service delivery.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field. Master's degree in HR, Business, or related field is a plus
- A minimum of seven years of progressive and successful HR experience
- Thorough knowledge of and experience in core HR disciplines, including employee/labor relations, talent management, organizational development, compensation, and employment law
- Experience in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed environment. Knowledge of and experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- PHR/SPHR, or other HR certification is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access and web-based tools such as PeopleSoft, HRMS and Web hire strongly desired.
- Proficiency in HR Systems and Data Analysis, with the ability to interpret and apply HR Metrics to business solutions
Hybrid with an onsite work requirement of at minimum 3 days each week (more as necessary based on circumstances and support needed).
