HSC Adjunct Faculty Member - Economics
Position Description
Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment.
Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment.
Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.
Major/Essential Functions
- Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
- Teaches one or more subjects as assigned by the academic unit in the areas of graduate education at the DNP level.
- Prepares and delivers online instruction in the assigned content area.
- Provides oversight for MSN and/or DNP students conducting projects aimed at improving patient care, healthcare systems or population health.
- Stimulates class discussions.
- Carries out all areas of course instruction to include course orientation, discussions, meeting with students as needed, grading assignments as well as reporting final grades.

Required Qualifications
- PhD in Economics.
