Join our dynamic Talent Acquisition - Employment team at UNC Asheville as a Human Resources Specialist and become a key contributor to cultivating talent excellence across our university.
In this role, you will help shape our campus culture, enhance employee experiences, and support a thriving, inclusive workforce. As part of the Human Resources Talent team, you will deliver high-impact HR services aligned with our institutional mission, values, and strategic goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition to support hiring efforts across the university.
- Assist with the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating search committee activities.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth and engaging transition for new hires.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, compensation, and HR policies.
- Coordinate employment documentation such as offer letters, contracts and etc.
- Stay informed on HR trends and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Education/Experience/Skills
Graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of human resources or a related HR administrative role.
- Knowledge of HR software and systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize information, demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain and process accurate records.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents, including employees and HR leadership and exhibit a customer service orientation and professionalism.
- Ability to handle confidential information reliably.
Work Schedule and Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the department.
