IBI Manager
The Institute of Biomedical Innovation (IBI) was launched in January 2026 as a new institute of the Department of Engineering, situated in West Cambridge, and reporting to the University of Cambridge Faculty Board. Open to academics, start-ups and industry partners, the IBI provides shared laboratories, expert technical staff and training to speed up the journey from laboratory ideas to real-world healthcare solutions.
The Institute requires a highly experienced senior administrator who will be the first point of contact for the Institute and will manage and be responsible for the day-to-day administration activities and processes of the IBI in order to ensure its efficient and effective operation. Financial management of the Institute and its SRF, compliance and communication (both internal and external) will be fundamental to the role as well as IBI user support which will involve interfacing with users, keeping track of their usage patterns and proving crucial data from which to plan budgets and strategies.
The successful candidate will hold a degree level/level 6 vocational qualification or an equivalent level of practical experience. You should have experience in a senior administrative role, including experience of staff management. Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2027 in the first instance.
