West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure, Instructor-level faculty member for the Medical Laboratory Science Programs (MLS). We are located within the Department of Pathology, Anatomy, and Laboratory Medicine and part of the School of Medicine.
The Division consists of four NAACLS accredited programs; Medical Laboratory Science (B.S. and M.S.), Histotechnology, Pathologists' Assistant. The School of Medicine is part of a thriving academic medical center which also includes the Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Together, the five Schools provide robust opportunities and programs for interprofessional education, collaborative practice, and research.
The primary responsibility of this position is classroom and laboratory teaching within the two MLS Programs. This faculty member will primarily contribute to assistant teaching in the student laboratories and serve as the MLS Student Laboratory Manager and Safety Officer. Other responsibilities will include secondary teaching assignments, student advising and recruiting, and participation in the service and research missions of the School of Medicine.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must possess, at minimum, bachelor's degree in MLS or a related discipline, have national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist) and possess clinical experience. Teaching experience is preferred.
