Instructor of Commercial Aviation / Air Traffic Operations
Job Summary/Description
The successful candidate for this position will teach air traffic operations (ATO) courses within the Commercial Aviation program. This position will start in August 2026.
Typical Duties/Job Duties
- The individual hired for this position will be required to fully participate in the activities of the CAV Program to include teaching, recruitment, student advising and service on committees.
- The teaching assignments for this position will cover Air Traffic Operations (Air Traffic Control).
- Administrative assignments include (but aren’t limited to) playing an active role in helping to set up the Air Traffic Operations track in the CAV program and recruiting students into the program.
- The successful candidate may also assist in getting the ATO track certified for special designations from the FAA.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Candidates should have a record of successful teaching.
- Candidates are expected to hold the required FAA certificates to teach air traffic control courses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree in a field related to aviation.
- FAA certificates to teach air traffic control courses.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Willingness to support the CAV program through student recruitment and advising and administrative tasks as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the college or university level.
- A background in aviation or aviation instruction.
