What you'll do and what you'll bring
Position Function
The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication invites applications for part-time instructors to teach online and/or on-campus, undergraduate and/or graduate courses beginning in August 2026 in advertising, journalism, media analytics, AI, public relations, sports public relations, design and/or photo journalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach online and/or on-campus, undergraduate and/or graduate courses beginning in Fall 2026 in advertising, journalism, media analytics, AI, public relations, sports public relations, design and/or photojournalism.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in advertising, journalism, public relations, sports administration, mass communications, or field related to the classes taught by the date of appointment.
OR A Bachelor’s Degree and evidence demonstrating a high level of professional proficiency and expertise in advertising, journalism, public relations, sports public relations, mass communications, or field related to the classes taught by the date of appointment.
Evidence may include: (1) high-quality portfolio and/or résumé including 5+ years of experience in relation to courses to be taught;(2) evidence of leadership/management experience and/or evidence of professional experience in highly competitive professional media environments;(3) nationally recognized license or certification;(4) significant professional awards; OR(5) high-quality peer-reviewed scholarly and/or juried creative activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree from an accredited college or university in advertising, journalism, public relations, mass communications, or related field relevant to the classes taught; five years teaching experience; and five years professional media experience.
