Insurance, Audit & Risk Officer
Location: University of Exeter, Streatham Campus, Exeter – Hybrid (On-campus & Home)
The starting salary will be from £28,031 (Pro rata if part time) on Grade D, depending on qualifications and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
About the Role
Are you an administrative professional with a keen eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for an Insurance, Audit & Risk Officer to join our well-regarded Assurance Compliance and Risk team.
Providing core services to the university-wide operations, our unit acts as a vital enabling service. You will play a key role in supporting all University activities, ensuring colleagues understand their insurance obligations and that essential cover is in place for new or evolving projects. You will also contribute to University-wide preparedness for serious incidents, offering a unique and fascinating insight into the full breadth of our institutional operations.
Working Pattern
We are committed to work-life balance and offer a 0.8 FTE contract (29.2 hours per week). We are open to discussing flexible patterns, including:
- 5 Days: approx. 5.8 hours per day (Monday–Friday).
- 4 Days: approx. 7.3 hours per day.
About You
We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven track record in service delivery and administrative support. To thrive in this role, you will need:
- An insurance qualification or the willingness to work towards.
- An understanding of insurance principles: an ability to interpret policy wordings, and to work collaboratively with insurance brokers.
- Excellent Communication: The ability to build relationships and convey requirements clearly to colleagues at all levels.
- Strong Organisation: Capability to manage varied administrative tasks accurately and within deadlines.
- Collaborative Spirit: A desire to work within a supportive, high-performing team environment.
