Job Summary
Coordinate the planning, organization, and operations of receiving, checking, storing, transferring, issuing, and disposing of inventory, materials, and equipment.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: property/inventory control, and GT/GTRI faculty and staff; may also interact with external vendors.
This position will typically advise and counsel: property/inventory control, and GT/GTRI faculty and staff.
This position will supervise: N/A
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Plan and schedule internal and external inventory/ equipment moves, including determining efficient and effective protocols for moving, overseeing all loading, and delivery operations, and determining availability of moving vehicles.
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare all outgoing shipments, including packing, boxing, labeling, scanning, sorting, storing, and all associated handling; will also process freight shipments in addition to common courier.
Job Duty 3 -
Receive and inspect all incoming shipments (from vendors, government, and GTRI/GT cost centers, etc.), including inspecting for damage, sorting, storing, scanning, and any other associated handling.
Job Duty 4 -
Monitor and track inbound/ outbound shipments during transit.
Job Duty 5 -
Place assets into short-term/ long-term storage; organize via asset scanning and bar code location; and manage/track removal and/or relocation of assets.
Job Duty 6 -
Transfer equipment from department to surplus inventory.
Job Duty 7 -
Manage Internal Parts Management Database, coordinating the process to move received items to inventory personnel; may investigate and respond to inquiries regarding receipt or distribution of materials.
Job Duty 8 -
Provide administrative logistical support, as needed, including creating/ preparing memos and reports, and acting as a unit representative at periodic Asset Management meetings.
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience
Three to four years job related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
Specialized skills required for this job: Microsoft Word and Excel. Working with ERP software. Good customer service skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Knowledge of handling surplus goods. Ability to prioritize and record keeping and maintenance skills.
