Offer Description
Join the research team of DrivABLE-CM – “Personalized Driving Solutions Through Neuroscience and AI”, contributing to the study of how cognitive and motor impairments associated with neurological conditions affect driving performance.
The position will focus on the clinical and neuropsychological components of the project, including the assessment of participants with Parkinson’s disease, stroke/acquired brain injury, and healthy controls, as well as the development and implementation of experimental driving assessment protocols.
DrivABLE integrates clinical, neuropsychological, functional, and driving-simulator data to develop objective assessment methods and personalized driving assistance systems.
This position is funded by the Comunidad de Madrid through the Programme “Proyectos Sinérgicos de I+D 2024”, Project DrivABLE-CM (Reference SYG-2024/TEC-634).

Skills/Qualifications
- Experience in neuropsychological assessment and psychometrics, particularly in attention, executive functions, memory, processing speed, and visuospatial abilities. Knowledge of clinical research methodology, database management, coding and analysis, and statistical analysis using SPSS and/or Python or MATLAB is also desirable.
- Additional qualifications include experience in literature searches, critical appraisal, systematic review methodology, and scientific writing, together with a good command of scientific English.
- Knowledge or experience in EEG recording or analysis, neurophysiology, non-invasive neuromodulation, neuroimaging tools, and simulation or functional assessment environments will be considered an asset.
Specific Requirements
The successful candidate will contribute to the clinical and experimental research activities of the DrivABLE project, including:
- Recruitment, screening, and clinical/neuropsychological assessment of participants with Parkinson’s disease, stroke/acquired brain injury, and healthy controls.
- Administration and interpretation of neuropsychological and psychometric assessments relevant to driving performance.
- Participation in the development and implementation of driving assessment protocols and experimental sessions using a driving simulator.
- Collection, management, quality control, and analysis of clinical, cognitive, driving, and multimodal data.
- Statistical analysis using tools such as SPSS, Python and/or MATLAB.
- Scientific literature review and contribution to systematic reviews, scientific reports, conference communications, manuscripts, and publications.
- Collaboration within a multidisciplinary clinical and technological research team involving neuropsychologists, neurologists, physiotherapists, engineers, and other project partners.

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria
Research experience in neuropsychology, Parkinson’s disease, acquired brain injury, or neurodegenerative disorders will be considered an asset. Additional desirable experience and skills include cognitive and functional assessment, participation in neurorehabilitation research projects, data analysis, familiarity with driving simulators or driving assessment, authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications or systematic reviews, participation in scientific conferences, knowledge of neurophysiology and EEG, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary clinical and technological research teams.
